Mountain walks

The Črna area is blessed with a huge variety of walking environments. The lowland walks and rambles are described here, but since you have found this page, then I guess you are after more of a challenge!

In the surroundings of Črna, numerous alpine valleys rise to the powerful peaks of Peca, Raduha, Olševa, and Smrekovec.

The village sits at 600m, and within just a few kilometers the mountains rise to over 2000m giving a multitude of walking adventures at a level to suit everyone.
The walking environment tends to be a mixture of forest, alpine meadow and rocky limestone mountain trails.

The area is almost devoid of tourists so you must be confident in your abilities, but your reward will be walking in solitude and tranquility in some amazing scenery.

Slovenia is truly a country for all seasons. In the winter, providing you have the experience and equipment, you can take advantage of many mountain trails, either on snow shoes or touring skis.

For the Slovenes, ski-ing and ski touring are a national past time - so the area has much to offer.

Touring from mountain hut to hut is particularly rewarding - summer or winter. The huts will often serve food and will be happy to top you up with a little local "firewater", beer or wine. Accommodation is also often available in case you would like to stay overnight.

Guided mountain walks and ski touring

Guided walks and ski touring can be provided for those who wish to seek out the best the area has to offer.
