The Slovene language

The Slovene language is a language in its own right, with some unique features. For example, where most languages have singular and plural, Slovene also has "dual", used when refering to a multiple of two! Although the language is quite difficult to understand you shouldn't worry as most Slovenes who are middle aged or younger tend to speak (end enjoy speaking) English. The older generation has less in the way of English speakers, but a little German will help you along should you know any.

Here are a few words to help you along whilst in Slovenia. Please give the language a try as the locals will really appreciate it.
